C2J were appointed as lead architects and planning consultants to convert an existing Georgian Grade II office building, located in central Mayfair, into a world leading private members club. We worked with renowned New York based interior designers Roman Williams to create a series of stunning bars, dining areas and club member lounges in the existing listed building fabric.
We also designed and secured planning for a new contemporary rooftop terrace to the rear of the building overlooking Bruton Lane. The roof terrace includes a fully retractable glass roof to ensure all year-round use. The scheme was granted planning permission in September 2020 and opened in the summer of 2022.

The rear extension was originally constructed in the 1940s and then adapted and redeveloped in the 1970s.
Our proposed terrace provides seating for up to twenty six people and standing capacity for an additional fourteen. Glazed side screens and low level planters provide protection and privacy while a retractable roof and sliding internal glazing allows the terrace to fully open, providing guests with an outdoor space eight storeys off the ground.
Artist’s impressions of the dark brick and steel construction demonstrate the comfortable integration of our proposal with the existing fabric of the building.
Full enclosure of the terrace is facilitated by the sliding double glazed windows & doors and retractable roof structure.
